Config Manager
Modpack developers can ship configuration files with Config Manager, so that the settings a player has already chosen are kept when the pack updates.
What it does
At startup the mod copies files from a directory bundled with the modpack into the Minecraft directory, but only where a file does not already exist. Its Update action copies the pack's config files over the player's, changing every setting the pack sets while leaving untouched settings as the player configured them. A Reset action clears the player's settings folder and fills it with the pack's own files.
Config Manager runs on NeoForge, Fabric and Quilt. It is server-side only, so a server can apply it while players join without installing anything. Mod Menu is an optional dependency that adds a configuration screen for the mod. The code is open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, and the latest Fabric, NeoForge and Quilt files are for 26.3.
Key features
Startup file copy
Files from the pack's config directory are copied at startup, but only where the file is missing from the Minecraft directory.
Selective update
Update overwrites the pack's config files so settings it sets change, while settings it does not set keep the player's values.
Full reset
Reset clears the player's settings folder and fills it with the pack's own files.
Mod Menu screen
With Mod Menu installed, the mod's settings can be opened from the mod list.

Use cases
Modpack updates
A pack author ships new defaults in a later release, and existing players keep the settings they chose.
Server setup
A server owner runs the pack on a dedicated server, and players connect without any extra install on their side.
Who it’s for: Modpack developers who ship configuration files, and server owners who want pack settings applied without overwriting player preferences.
