Command Structures

by TelepathicGrunt

Command Structures provides console commands that place jigsaw structures, configured features and placed features at the player's position, for testing and debugging world generation.

FabricForgeNeoForgeQuiltServer-side onlyMIT LicenseOpen source1.18.1 – 26.3

What it does

The mod adds commands that spawn a jigsaw structure from a template pool, starting from a chosen pool and piece such as the plains village town centers in minecraft:village/plains/town_centers. Only the template pool argument is required. Optional arguments control how many pieces extend outward from the starting piece, the total piece count, how deep the branches run, whether the structure spawns on top of the land at the player's location, and whether structure processors run. A special rule adjusts bounding boxes so pieces fit more neatly, and a setting keeps villages generating properly.

Other commands spawn configured features and placed features, which the mod describes as a way to make debugging easier. Spawning a structure 50 blocks away from the player is one example of how the commands are used. The mod is server-side only, so only the server needs it, and it requires Fabric API. It is open source under the MIT License and is published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt across 28 release versions, 1.18.1 – 26.3.

Key features

  1. Spawn jigsaw structures

A command places a jigsaw structure from a template pool at the player's location, using NBT pieces laid out in order.

  2. Spawn configured and placed features

Separate commands place configured features and placed features, so a feature can be checked without waiting for world generation.

  3. Optional piece controls

Arguments set the outward piece count, total pieces, branch depth and whether the structure starts on top of the land.

  4. Processor toggle

Structure processors can be switched off, which avoids a visible reload of chunks and gives a performance gain when the blocks are not needed.
