Commander Lib
Commander Lib is a data pack library for Minecraft that lets command blocks and datapacks detect and apply entity motion, glow and fall damage through tags and scores.
What it does
The library covers movement states, which can be detected through tags and scores. Datapacks can apply vertical motion, including an upward boost whose magnitude follows the number added as a tag, and can set a vanilla preset glow colour on an entity. Detection also reports cardinal vertical directions and entity facing, so a datapack can react to where a mob or player is heading.
Fall damage can be prevented with a tag, and a permission tag named for no fall is part of the set. The mod is built for servers that run custom command content, where the tags do the work that would otherwise need scripting. Commander Lib requires no client-side install, and players join without it.
Commander Lib runs on Fabric, Forge and Quilt, and is also available as a data pack. It is released under the MIT License and is not open source. Files target 1.20 – 1.20.6, with seven release versions. The latest build for each loader is 0.0.2 for 1.20.6, published 2024-06-29. Air Place requires it.
Key features
Movement state detection
Tags and scores report the movement state of an entity, such as whether it is rising or falling.
Vertical motion and boost
An upward boost is applied with a magnitude taken from the number added as a tag, from 1 to 20.
Fall damage prevention
A tag cancels fall damage for the entity it is applied to, useful for custom jump or launch content.
Vanilla glow colours
Entities can be given a glow effect in a vanilla preset colour, applied through a tag.
