Cognition overhauls player experience points with arcane machinery, storage and transport blocks, and a magic power system.
What it does
Cognition reworks how players store, transport and use experience. It began as Experience Obelisk, a single block that the author built to provide the functions of EnderIO's experience obelisk, and it has grown into a set of machines that sort mystical resources with Cognitium, described as pure knowledge given physical form. Blocks can be placed on corners and vertices, and the mod's detailed contents are documented on its wiki.
Block models were made by Squishy, and playtesting was done with help from lazerdude. Cognition depends on Geckolib for its animated models: version 3 covers 1.18.2 and 1.19.2, and version 4 covers 1.20.1 and later. Curios API is an optional dependency that lets worn items use Curios slots. The mod runs on client and server, and it is open source under the MIT License. Files are published for Forge and NeoForge across 11 release versions, 1.18.1 – 1.21.5, with the latest Forge file for 1.20.1 and the latest NeoForge file for 1.21.1.
