Cobblemon Marks

by ArchieDxncan

Cobblemon Marks is a Cobblemon side-mod that gives Pokémon ribbon-style marks based on when, where and how they were caught.

FabricServer-side onlyGNU General Public License v3.0 onlyOpen source1.21.1

What it does

Marks are awarded at capture. A Pokémon caught at sunrise receives the Dawn Mark, one caught at midday the Lunchtime Mark, one at sunset the Dusk Mark, and one caught late at night the Sleepy-Time Mark. Weather adds more: catches during rain, thunderstorms and in snowy biomes earn the Rainy, Stormy and Snowy Marks. Some marks are uncommon, with a 1 in 50 chance of being received, and rarity marks are granted by luck.

Marks are stored on the Pokémon as ribbons and appear in the Cobblemon storage interface. The mod also works with Ribbon Storage Integration and with Cobblemon Transporter, so Pokémon carrying marks can be transferred and viewed using Cobblemon Extra Data, in the way they would be shown in the mainline games.

The mod needs Cobblemon, Cobblemon Extra Data and Fabric API. It runs on Fabric for 1.21.1 only. Server owners install it, and players connect with no copy of their own. Released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, it is open source, and the source code is public.

Key features

  1. Time-based marks

Dawn, Lunchtime, Dusk and Sleepy-Time Marks are given depending on the time of day a Pokémon is caught.

  2. Weather-based marks

Rainy, Stormy and Snowy Marks depend on the weather and biome where the capture happens.

  3. Rarity marks

Some marks are uncommon, with a 1 in 50 chance, and rare marks depend on luck.

  4. Ribbon storage support

Marks are stored as ribbons on each Pokémon and work with Ribbon Storage Integration.

How it compares

Full comparison

Cobblemon Scoremons is client and server, under All rights reserved, and is not open source, for 1.21.1 on Fabric. Cobblemon Roboto Composter is server-side only, open source under the MIT License and also for 1.21.1 on Fabric, so it can run on a server without client installs. Cobblemon Marks uses the same server-side environment as Cobblemon Roboto Composter but is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only.
