Cobbleboost
Cobbleboost targets the rendering and animation cost of Cobblemon's Pokemon entities on the Fabric client, in areas where many of them are loaded.
What it does
Cobbleboost is a client-side optimization for Cobblemon on Minecraft 1.21.1. Six features reduce the work the game does for Pokemon entities: rendering is skipped beyond a configurable distance, distant Pokemon are drawn with simplified level-of-detail models, animation updates are throttled for entities out of direct view, and particle effects are capped in dense areas. Model pre-caching loads Pokemon models during resource loading so they do not stutter the first time they appear in-game.
The mod hooks Cobblemon's rendering and animation code through Fabric Mixins, and every change happens on the client. Server owners do not need to install it, and players can adjust the settings in a configuration screen built with Cloth Config and Mod Menu, or through a command. Cobbleboost is distributed for Fabric only, in its 1.2.1 build for 1.21.1 published on 2026-09-13.
Key features
Distance-based render culling
Pokemon beyond a set distance are not drawn, which lowers the strain on the graphics card when many are spawned nearby.
Level-of-detail models
Distant Pokemon appear with simplified models, so their presence stays visible without the full rendering cost.
Animation throttling
Animations of entities far away or outside direct view update less often, saving CPU time.
Particle limiter
Cobblemon's particle effects are capped in heavy, dense areas to reduce the number drawn at once.
Model pre-caching
Pokemon models are loaded during resource loading, so they do not cause a stutter when first encountered.
In-game configuration
A settings screen and a command let players tune each optimization without editing files.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
