Cluttered

by beelake

Cluttered adds a large set of decorative blocks and furniture, including beds, chairs and storage blocks that work as intended, with blocks inspired by several video games.

FabricForgeNeoForgeClient and serverGNU General Public License v3.0 or laterOpen source1.16.5 – 1.21.1

What it does

The block set draws on a number of games, among them Overwatch, Animal Crossing, The Sims and Terraria. Version 3.0 was rebuilt from scratch with new code and updated models, and it includes paintings made by several artists. Beds, chairs and storage blocks function as intended, and some blocks have added behavior. Saplings can be obtained from the Wandering Trader or from village and dungeon chests.

Cluttered runs on Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, and the environment is client and server, so both the server and every player need it. Game versions cover 1.16.5 – 1.21.1 with files for 12 release versions. The code is released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later, and the source code is public. The first 3.0 release targets Forge 1.20.1, and later builds move to NeoForge, with a Fabric port planned.

Key features

  1. Themed decorative blocks

Blocks and furniture are modeled on the look of several video games, for building rooms and scenes.

  2. Working storage and seating

Beds, chairs and storage blocks behave as expected, and some blocks include extra functions.

  3. Hand drill variant cycling

The hand drill item cycles through block variants, which covers wallpapers and the marble and chalcedony sets.

  4. Paintings

Several paintings by a group of artists are included in the mod.

  5. Block replacement on update

Updating replaces most blocks and furniture with new versions, and the option can be turned off in the configs before the first world load.

Questions

Does Cluttered need to be installed on both sides?

Yes. The server and every player need the mod installed.

Which loaders have files for Cluttered?

Files exist for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge. The first 3.0 release targets Forge 1.20.1, and later versions move to NeoForge.

Will stored items survive an update to 3.0?

No. The mod ID has changed, so items stored in Cluttered blocks from earlier versions disappear. Players should empty those blocks before updating.
