Chunky
by pop4959
Chunky generates world chunks ahead of players in advance, so a map is already loaded when exploration reaches it.
What it does
Chunk generation tasks are started from the chunky command, which takes a selection of area such as a square, a circle or a shape bounded by the world border. Several tasks can run at the same time to use more of the processor, and a running task can be paused, which saves its progress, then continued later or cancelled, which discards it. Progress is shown with the number of chunks processed, the percent to completion, an estimated finish time and the processing rate.
The mod works on either side, and neither side needs it, so it can be used by a player in a singleplayer world or by an operator on a dedicated server, where a player with server console access grants operator status with the op command. On Fabric, the mod depends on Fabric API. The project carries the GNU General Public License v3.0 only and is open source, with builds for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 49 release versions covering 1.13.2 – 26.3. Chunky Border adds world border support when it is installed alongside Chunky.
Key features
Parallel generation tasks
Several chunk generation tasks can be started and run together, which spreads the work across the processor cores.
Pause and resume
A task can be paused with its progress saved, then continued later with chunky continue.
Detailed progress display
Completion percentage, estimated time remaining and chunk processing rate are shown for each running task.
Custom shapes and borders
Generation can cover a square, a circle or the area inside the world border, with the center and radius set from the command line.
Trim outside selection
The trim command deletes chunks that lie outside the selected area.

Use cases
Pre-generating a survival world
A square or circle centered on spawn can be generated before players arrive, so travel does not stall on new terrain.
Generating a dimension
A selection can be set in the nether, using a circle centered on spawn with a set radius.
Who it’s for: Singleplayer players who want terrain ready before exploring, and server owners who want to pre-generate a dedicated server's map.

What the author says
In order to use chunky you will need to either: - Be an operator on a dedicated server. To become an operator, someone with access to the server must run the command op from the server console. - Be in a singleplayer world. In older versions of chunky you may also need to enable cheats for the world. This can be done…
