Random Chunks
by BaGaJa
Random Chunks changes how chunks generate in a world, shuffling the blocks that fill them as players explore.
What it does
Chunks get randomized as they load, so terrain can show blocks from unexpected sets. Select blocks from the Randomizer Falling Blocks Default list can be disabled, which keeps those blocks out of the shuffle. A chunk can be set to stay as it is, and once it is excluded it is not randomized again.
Randomization can be tuned for performance. A Performance Mode option reduces the work the game does per chunk, and the randomization radius can be changed so that only chunks inside the chosen distance are affected. Chunks have to load before they are randomized, so a larger radius or a full shuffle takes longer and can cause lag.
Random Chunks requires Fabric API and is published for Fabric and Forge across 11 release versions, 1.20.4 – 26.1.2. Installation covers the server and each player's game. The mod is released under All rights reserved and is not open source.
Key features
Chunk randomization
Chunks are shuffled as they generate, altering the blocks players see in the terrain around them.
Per-chunk exclusion
A chunk can be turned off so it keeps its original blocks and is never randomized again.
Block selection
Selected blocks from the Randomizer Falling Blocks Default list can be disabled to keep them out of the shuffle.
Radius and performance settings
The randomization radius and a Performance Mode setting control how many chunks are affected and how much work each one costs.
