Cherries, The Forbidden Fruit

The fruit is a food item. Eating one restores one hunger point and half a hunger shank. Because real cherry pits are poisonous, eating five has a 25% chance of giving Poison for five seconds. Cherry Leaves have a 25% chance to drop when broken, which is the way the fruit is first gathered. The golden variant is crafted from one cherry surrounded by eight gold nuggets on a crafting table. Eating it restores four hunger points and two shanks. Eating five golden cherries has a 10% chance of giving Nausea for five seconds, and a brewing stand can turn the effect into Nausea potions. Golden cherries also drop from Cherry Leaves at a 1% chance when broken.

The mod adds a Cherry Pie made from cherries, one egg, one sugar and one wheat on a crafting table, and a Golden Cherry Pie that swaps the cherry for a golden one. The pie is placeable like a cake, with four slices; each cherry slice gives three hunger points and the listed shanks, while a plain slice gives one point and 0.5 shanks.

Cherries, The Forbidden Fruit is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution Non Commercial No Derivatives 4.0, so it is not open source. Its files target only 1.20.1 and load on Forge. The author asks that anyone using the mod in a modpack give credit.
