Chef's Workbench

by TamKungZ_

Chef's Workbench swaps the single furnace for a small kitchen system, where players place cooking blocks and cook food in batches.

FabricForgeNeoForgeQuiltClient and serverAll rights reserved1.19.2 – 26.2

What it does

Players build a working kitchen from cooking stations that fry, bake, steam, boil and cook food. Stoves take fuel and begin the process, and a creative tab groups the blocks together. Cooking becomes a chain of stations instead of one furnace block, which suits survival play and modpacks that rely on custom setups.

Recipe viewers are optional: without one, the workbench still works, and an installed supported viewer lets players browse custom cooking recipes in-game. Files are made for one exact Minecraft version and loader, and the mod runs on client and server, so both sides need it. Builds cover 1.19.2 – 26.2 for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, and the code is not open source under All rights reserved.

Key features

  1. Cooking stations

Kitchen blocks such as ovens, pans and counters combine into one working setup.

  2. Batch cooking

Fuel and cookware allow several items to be prepared in one run, with stoves taking fuel to start.

  3. Datapack recipes

Datapacks can add foods, replace built-in recipes and change cooking time and experience values.

  4. Optional recipe viewer support

A supported recipe viewer installed alongside the mod lets players browse custom cooking recipes in-game.

Use cases

Survival kitchens

Players can build a full cooking area and craft a stove early to begin building it.

Custom recipe packs

Pack makers can write their own cooking recipes and tune the process through a datapack guide.

Who it’s for: Players who want a kitchen with several cooking stations, and pack makers who want to change recipes with datapacks rather than by editing the jar.

Questions

Does Chef's Workbench need to be installed on the server?

Yes. Installation covers the server and each player's game.

Which loader and version should be used?

Files exist for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt across 10 release versions, 1.19.2 – 26.2. Each file is made for one exact Minecraft version and loader, so the matching one must be chosen.

Is a recipe viewer required?

No. Recipe viewers are optional, and the workbench works without one. A supported viewer only makes custom cooking recipes easier to browse in-game.
