Cheaper Cosmetic Templates

by rainzy

Cheaper Cosmetic Templates lowers the cost of crafting cosmetic Smithing Templates, so a Netherite Upgrade template needs one diamond instead of seven.

FabricForgeNeoForgeQuiltServer required, client optionalAll rights reserved1.21.7 – 1.21.11

What it does

The mod is delivered as a data pack or a mod, and changes the recipe of each cosmetic Smithing Template so that it can be crafted from a single diamond. The template is then applied in a smithing table to upgrade gear, as in vanilla. The change targets purely cosmetic templates, which are otherwise expensive to duplicate. Server owners install it on the server, and players only need it if they want to join with the same recipe changes applied. Files are published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, for the game versions 1.21.7 – 1.21.11.

Key features

  1. Cheaper template recipe

Cosmetic Smithing Templates craft from one diamond instead of seven, lowering the material cost.

  2. Netherite Upgrade template

The cheaper Netherite Upgrade template still applies in a smithing table to upgrade equipment.

  3. Data pack option

The same recipe change is available as a data pack for servers that do not run mods.

What the author says

Ever thought duplication trims is ridiculosuly expensive, especially for something that's purely cosmetic? Well, this datpack/mod is for you! This makes all Cosmetic Smithing templates MUCH cheaper to craft, with each one only requiring 1 diamond instead of 7! Please note that this does NOT apply to the Netherite…
