ChatLookup
by safhy
ChatLookup is a Fabric chat utility for the client, with message search, copy shortcuts and a saved chat history.
What it does
Installed on the client, ChatLookup gathers several chat tools into one mod. Players can search messages in the chat window, copy a single message or several at once with modifier-click shortcuts, and move messages between two clipboards. Commands can be bound to chat messages, and the history stays on disk so it can still be read after the game restarts.
The author also lists stacking of repeated lines, timestamps, player heads in chat and mention highlighting among its functions. The mod is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only. Files are published for Fabric alone, across 17 release versions 1.21 – 26.3, and the latest is 1.2.0+26.3 for 26.3. Only the client needs it, so servers and other players can run without it.
Key features
Message search
A search box finds messages in the chat log, so a line from earlier in a session can be located without scrolling.
Click-to-copy shortcuts
Ctrl+Left-click copies a chat message to the clipboard, and Ctrl+Shift+Left-click copies one message into the second clipboard slot.
Multi-message copy
Several messages can be selected and copied in a single action, which saves repeating the shortcut for each line.
Persistent chat history
Chat messages are written to disk, so the history remains available after the game is closed and reopened.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.

1.21.x12 of 12 versions with builds
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.
Use cases
Keeping track of a busy server
On a server with heavy traffic, the search and history tools help a player find an earlier message without reading the whole log.
Sharing chat text
Copied messages can be pasted into a forum post, a bug report or a note, with two clipboards for holding separate lines.
Who it’s for: Players on Fabric who spend time in busy multiplayer chat or who want a record of earlier messages. Server owners do not need to install it.
How it compares
Copy Chat is also a client-side Fabric mod under the MIT License, but it is published for 26.2 – 26.3 only. VeridianCopy runs on Fabric and Forge for 1.16.4 – 1.20.1 under the MIT License, so it covers older versions where ChatLookup has no files. KKS Chat is open source under the MIT License and reaches 1.21.1 – 26.1.2 on Fabric, but it does not include ChatLookup's history on disk.
