ChatGPT To MC lets players send chat messages to OpenAI language models from inside the Minecraft chat window, using their own API key.
What it does
A player supplies a personal OpenAI API key through the mod's configuration screen. Once set, the mod sends text typed in chat to OpenAI and shows the model's reply in the chat window, so the exchange happens entirely in game. OpenAI services are not provided free of charge; each player pays for their own key's usage.
The mod listens for the trigger phrase "hey chatgpt" at the start of a chat message, and treats the words after it as the prompt. Settings available through ModMenu include a cooldown between requests, an allowlist of players, custom system instructions and the model choice, with gpt-4o and gpt-4-turbo among the options. If Baritone is installed, the mod can be set to Baritone mode, allowing the model to request Baritone actions.
ChatGPT To MC is a Fabric mod for Minecraft 1.21.11 only. Fabric API is not listed as a requirement, but ModMenu is required to reach the configuration screen, and the game needs an active internet connection to reach OpenAI's servers. Players add it to their own game, and a server needs no copy. It is released under CC0 1.0 Universal, which makes it open source; its source code and issue tracker are public.
