Chat Calc
by realrttv
With Chat Calc, a player types a math expression into the chat window and the answer appears above the input before the message is sent.
What it does
Chat Calc evaluates expressions typed in chat. Typing 1+2 shows a tooltip with 3 above the input, and pressing TAB fills in the result. Adding an equals sign, as in 1+2=, makes the mod place the answer in the text. Expressions are read as blocks separated by spaces, so several calculations can sit in one message, and long expressions with extra spaces still work. Numbers with thousands separators, such as 1,000 2, are accepted, and the value is shown as 2,000 after TAB.
Users can define their own functions and constants. Typing f z 2z-1 creates a function that a later entry like f 4 TAB 7 can call, and c=sqrt 2 2 stores a constant used in expressions such as arcsin c. Functions can take several parameters, separated by semicolons because commas are reserved for number formatting. Entering a name followed by TAB with nothing after it removes that function or constant, and the chat reports the removal. The list of defined functions and constants can be viewed by typing the function list command in chat.
Key features
Inline answers
Typing an expression shows its value as a tooltip above the chat input, and TAB inserts it.
Custom functions and constants
Functions with one or more parameters and named constants can be defined in chat and used in later expressions.
Removing definitions
Entering a name followed by TAB with no value deletes a stored function or constant.

What the author says
Note: This is a complete revamp of the mod ChatCalc by Kokeria, which is most likely abandoned. This mod features almost everything you'd need in a calculator, and if you want something to be added, just ask! Firstly, I should clarify how you use ChatCalc, simply type an expression into chat, and it'll show the…
