What it does
The mod targets the chunk system itself, not the game's world generation. Its stated goal is a large cut in region file size, with a reported reduction of about 45 percent in alpha builds. Raw serialization of simple chunk data is described as saving roughly 16 percent, and the author also reports a smaller blocking footprint per chunk, listed at around 29 percent. The mod is in alpha, and the author advises testing it on a new world rather than an existing one.
