What it does

Changed Extras puts a set of new creatures into the world, with variants based on several Protogen and LTX models. It introduces new bosses, latex organic variants and structures, including two facility rooms that extend the main mod's Facility, along with new items and blocks. Creatures gain better pathfinding, the ability to heal by eating, the ability to shoot bows and equip armor, and their memory of attackers can be shortened through the server configuration key latexAttackerMemoryTicks.

The mod depends on Changed Addon Plus and Changed: Minecraft Mod, and it needs a recent enough release of the base Changed Mod. A gamerule named changedextras:smart latex ai is set to true by default and toggles the smarter behavior. The package is published for Forge and Minecraft 1.20.1, with the latest Forge file dated 2026-10-12. Servers that run it need every player to install it too. The content is released under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license, and the mod is not open source, although its source code and issue tracker are public.

Key features

  1. Smarter latex creatures

A gamerule switches on advanced latex AI, so creatures pursue targets and remember a grudge against the player.

  2. New bosses and facility rooms

The EXP-012 boss is an artist with several attacks, and it can only be hit during a vulnerability window while it reloads.

  3. Crafted latex flask

A recipe built from bio-mass latex, an orange totem of undying and a palette creates a flask that lets players customize latex color and texture.

  4. Latex variants

Creatures such as the Latex Jammer, Latex Hazzy, Latex Catte and Cone Kat add new mobs to the Changed world.

Questions

Which dependencies does Changed Extras need?

Changed Addon Plus and Changed: Minecraft Mod are required, and the base Changed Mod must be a sufficiently recent release.

Does the server need Changed Extras?

Yes. Servers that run it need every player to install it too.

How is the EXP-012 boss defeated?

Normal attacks only land during the vulnerability window, which opens while the boss reloads. Its room holds tears that the player can find.
