Cataclysm Era
by NoraLunan
Cataclysm Era changes how zombies behave over the course of a world, scaling their stats with the in-game day count on Forge for 1.20.1.
What it does
Zombies in Cataclysm Era receive power-ups after 10 in-game days, and the day count is shown on screen in the morning. Zombies lose their weakness to sunlight and are immune only to sunburn and fire damage. A small share of zombies can spawn invisible, and from the mid to late game some carry Totems of Undying or wear netherite armor. Zombies also replace some of the vanilla monsters, and the 10th night becomes a special night event.
The mod is built for hardcore post-apocalyptic survival, and the author recommends pairing it with other zombie-enhancing mods. Most of its adjustable values can be changed in a configuration file. If Enhanced Celestials is installed, the 10th night sets a Super Moon. Servers that run it need every player to install it too. It is published for Forge only, for 1.20.1, with 1.2.1 as the latest beta file, and it is released under All rights reserved, so it is not open source.
