Capable Carving lets players carve almost any block into a pumpkin-style shape, with a pumpkin that keeps its carving data for later placement.

What it does

Carving works on most blocks rather than only pumpkins. A player uses a carving tool on a face of the block to cut a pattern into it, and the carved piece can be picked up and put down again elsewhere with its design kept. The pumpkin data is stored inside the item, so a carved block can be carried and placed anywhere.

Capable Carving is published for NeoForge 1.21.1 only, as a single 1.0.0 file from 2026-06-18. The server and every player need the mod installed. The code is open source under the MIT License.
