What it does

Activating the effect gives the screen a stylized, old-camcorder look. The filter is not based on how a real VHS camera or player works internally; it is a visual approximation. A set of configurable options controls the look, including fisheye zoom, fisheye scale, fisheye pinch, near plane and far plane bokeh effects, and a rendered 4:3 border. Bigger values zoom and scale the screen further out, and a bigger pinch value lowers the distortion.

Camcord is a client-side only mod, so only the client needs it and servers run without it. It works alongside shader and performance mods such as Iris, Sodium and Optifine. Cloth Config API, Quilted Fabric API (QFAPI) or Quilt Standard Libraries (QSL), and Satin API are required, and the mod is licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, making it open source. Builds cover 1.19 – 1.20.1, and the latest Quilt file is 1.1.0+1.20.1 for 1.20.1, released 2023-08-06.
