Brewing Helper

by Qetrox

Brewing Helper gives players on-screen guidance while brewing potions, showing what each ingredient changes in the recipe.

FabricClient-side onlyAll rights reserved1.20 – 1.20.1

What it does

The mod is a client-side Fabric helper for brewing. Because only the client needs it, players install it on their own game and servers do not have to run it. Builds exist for Minecraft 1.20 and 1.20.1, and the latest Fabric file, 1.0 for 1.20.1, was published on 2023-07-31.

Its focus is the potion-making process: it tells the player what a starting potion becomes when a given ingredient is added, which effect a fermented spider eye changes, and how water bottles and gunpowder or dragon's breath alter the potion type. Tooltips also explain what each brewing ingredient contributes, and the mod supports the languages that Minecraft itself includes.

The mod is released under All rights reserved and is not open source. It has no required dependencies beyond Fabric, and it supports the languages that Minecraft itself includes, so the interface follows the player's chosen language.

Key features

  1. Starting potion effects

The default effect of an Awkward potion is shown, so the player knows the base before any ingredient is added.

  2. Effect change preview

Adding a fermented spider eye shows which effect the potion would change to.

  3. Potion type changes

Water bottles, gunpowder and dragon's breath are shown with the potion types each one produces.

  4. Ingredient tooltips

Brewing ingredients display tooltips that list the effect each one gives.
