Bonfire blessings

by Vilno

Bonfire Blessings lets a campfire heal nearby friendly animals and players during the night when it is lit, with a configurable aura.

NeoForgeServer-side onlyMIT License1.21.1 – 1.21.8

What it does

Lit campfires project a healing aura that restores nearby friendly creatures, so a camp becomes a place where tamed and farm animals recover after a journey. Hostile monsters are left alone, and the aura does not target them.

The mod is server-side only, so players join a server running it without installing anything. It is published for NeoForge only, on 1.21.1 and 1.21.8, and its single current file is 1.0.0 for 1.21.8, released on 2026-06-06. The code is released under the MIT License, but the project is not open source.

Key features

  1. Healing warmth

A lit campfire heals friendly mobs inside its aura, and the healing reaches players who stand near it.

  2. Friendly mob coverage

Cows, sheep, pigs, chickens, wolves, dogs, cats, horses, donkeys, mules, llamas, rabbits, foxes, pandas, frogs and camels are all covered.

  3. Smart filtering

The campfire filter automatically protects peaceful creatures, so only the intended mobs receive the healing effect.

  4. Clean interface

The mod adds no extra screens or menus, and campfires keep their normal placement and use.

Use cases

A campfire placed among pens can keep livestock healthy between visits from the owner.

Camps on long trips

Players who stop at a campfire after a long journey get a rest spot where nearby mobs recover too.

Who it’s for: Server owners who want campfires to support animals without extra commands or plugins. Players on such servers benefit without installing anything.
