Ore Blocks Now Smelting

by Vilno

Ore Blocks Now Smelting lets a raw ore block go straight into a furnace and return finished metal blocks, skipping the ingot stage.

FabricForgeNeoForgeServer-side onlyMIT License1.20.1 – 26.2

What it does

Players mining raw copper, iron or gold blocks can place them in a furnace and collect solid refined metal blocks instead of individual ingots, which saves the usual 3x3 crafting step. The mod works with standard furnaces and with blast furnaces, and fuel use and experience gains are scaled to match vanilla proportions.

The mod is server-side only, so players join without installing anything, and only the server runs it. Installation needs Fabric on Fabric, Forge on Forge, or NeoForge on NeoForge, and no other dependency is required. The code is licensed under the MIT License, and the mod is not open source. Files target 1.20.1 and 26.2, with the latest build 1.0.0 for each loader.

Public feedback goes through the issue tracker, where bugs and suggestions can be reported, and the mod is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge.

Key features

  1. Whole raw ore blocks

Raw copper, iron and gold blocks can be smelted as whole blocks, producing the finished metal block in one step.

  2. Full furnace support

Standard furnaces and blast furnaces both process raw ore blocks, with fuel and experience scaled to vanilla values.

  3. Fewer hoppers and chests

Automated setups need fewer hoppers and chests, since raw blocks are processed directly without an intermediate ingot stage.

  4. Bulk processing

Packs of raw ore blocks can be sent through a furnace in one pass, which speeds up mining trips on a busy server.
