Blocks for Builders

by disjoint_account

Blocks for Builders adds ten wood types, each with its own planks, logs, stairs and other blocks, aimed at players who build with vanilla materials.

FabricClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.21 – 26.2

What it does

The mod's new wood sets come in pale teal, cream, pale pink-ish brown, pale orange, dark brown, yellow-y brown and light grey tones, each named after a tree: willow, palm, maple, beech, pine, cedar and ghostwood among them. Every set gives builders a consistent palette to mix with the existing vanilla blocks, and the author describes the mod as a small addition meant to fit alongside vanilla content without strong stylistic changes.

The project is published for Fabric only, with files for 16 release versions, 1.21 – 26.2. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too. Fabric API is required, and TerraBlender is required as well. The code is open source under the MIT License, and the source code and issue tracker are publicly linked.

Key features

  1. Ten new wood types

Each wood type includes a full set of building blocks, so a build can use a consistent family of materials.

  2. Varied color palettes

The wood tones range from pale teal and cream to dark brown and light grey, adding options to vanilla color schemes.

  3. Building-focused content

The additions target decorative construction work, with no new mechanics or machines added to the game.

  4. Designed for shader gallery use

The author uses the blocks in shader gallery images, which shows how they look under lighting.
