Block Renderer

by AterAnimAvis

Block Renderer lets players render blocks and items from PNG-based textures on demand, producing rendered output while a client session is running.

FabricForgeClient-side onlyCustom license1.16.2 – 1.16.5

What it does

Players trigger a render with a key, and holding SHIFT while pressing it opens a GUI where a single render can be customized. Holding CTRL instead opens a GUI for choosing the rendering type and for entering a comma-separated list of namespaces, which lets several namespaces be processed in one bulk pass. The default render size is 512x512, with a maximum of 2048x2048 and a minimum of 16x16.

The mod is published for Fabric and Forge. On Fabric, FabricAPI is needed alongside it. It is client-side only, so a server does not need it and players join without installing anything. The mod has four release versions, 1.16.2, 1.16.3, 1.16.4 and 1.16.5, and the latest file, 1.16.4-1.5.3 for 1.16.5, was published on 2021-05-01. Block Renderer is released under a custom license and is not open source, though its source code and issue tracker are public.

  3. Bulk namespace rendering

Holding CTRL opens a GUI where a comma-separated list of namespaces can be entered for batch rendering.

How it compares

Full comparison

Toggle Render Distance is a Fabric client mod for 1.21.8, released under a custom license and not open source, and it changes render distance rather than rendering blocks. Simple Image Renderer is also a client-side Fabric mod, but it targets 1.21.11 – 26.3 and is open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3.0 only, so it covers a different version range and license.
