Biome Spreader
by Masy
Biome Spreader lets a potion, once thrown, convert the biome around where it lands into a different biome, and it is server-side only.
What it does
Potions with a specific naming scheme spread the biome they correspond to when they land. The mod ships recipes for these potions, and a datapack provides them, recreating the recipes at startup. Players who need a biome the provided potions do not cover can add custom potions by writing their own datapack entries, and the examples can be read in the datapack assets directory of the mod.
The spread can be shaped with the config option that sets the area: a cylinder or a sphere, with a default radius of 16 blocks. Biomes are stored in 4x4x4 cubes, so a radius that is not a multiple of 4 will not work as expected, and the spread is not perfectly centered on the potion. The mod is server-side only, so it is installed on the server and players join without it, and it can still run in singleplayer when a client has it installed. It requires Fabric API and is published for Fabric only, for the game versions 1.21.4 – 26.2 under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, open source.
Key features
Spreading potions
A potion whose name ends with a fertilizer prefix converts the biome at the landing spot into the matching biome.
Vertical and horizontal reach
The spread can be a cylinder or a sphere, and the default spread covers the full height of the world.
Custom biome potions
Server owners can add potions for other biomes, such as ocean, by naming them with the same scheme and adding the matching nbt entries.
Default settings
The spread is disabled after first start and affects only overworld biomes; lush caves and dripstone caves cannot be replaced.

The event that spreads the biomes looks for potions with a specific naming scheme and then spreads the corresponding biome, so you can add custom biome potions yourself if the provided ones aren't enough. It looks for the "potion_contents" nbt compound and checks the custom name of the potion. If the name ends with…
