Biome Replacer
by werdei
With Biome Replacer, a server owner swaps or removes unwanted biomes by writing plain rules in a properties file, without editing datapacks.
What it does
Each line of the rules file pairs an existing biome with the biome that should replace it. Biome tags can stand in for single biomes, and a dedicated keyword deletes a biome from generation entirely, for example to strip Terralith's skylands from a world. Bracketed dimension IDs limit a rule set to one dimension, which matters only when custom dimensions generate the same biomes.
The mod changes biome placement, not terrain shape, so oceans cannot become land and ocean-only worlds cannot be made. Only the biome libraries it supports can be changed, which leaves out biomes added by other generation frameworks. Fabric API is required on every loader, and the server runs the mod alone, so players join without installing anything. The mod is open source under the MIT License and published for 1.18.2 – 26.3 across Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt.
Key features
Single properties file
Replacement rules are written in a single biome_replacer.properties file in the config folder.
Biome tag targeting
Rules can target whole biome tags, not only individual biome IDs.
Biome removal
A dedicated keyword removes a biome from generation entirely.
Dimension headers
A bracketed dimension ID limits the following rules to that dimension.
Runs at world start
Rules are applied once when the world loads, so generation speed is not affected.

Use cases
Tweaking datapack generators
Adjusts biomes from datapack-based generators such as Terralith, which otherwise lack a simple configuration.
Who it’s for: Server owners and single-player players who want to adjust world generation from a datapack without writing code.
How it compares
Reliable Replacer is also a server-side mod and open source under the MIT License, published for 1.20.1 – 26.3 on Fabric, Forge and NeoForge, without Quilt files. Simple Missing Replacer is server-side only and open source under the MIT License, but it runs on NeoForge alone and covers only 1.21.1 – 1.21.5. Biome Replacer adds Quilt support and covers 1.18.2 – 26.3.

What the author says
Biome Replacer is a simple and easy-to-use utility mod for removing unwanted biomes \*Please note that Biome Replacer cannot change terrain shape. This means that it's impossible to change oceans to land, create ocean-only worlds, etc.
