Bewitchment REI

by TheWinABagel

Bewitchment REI brings the recipes of the Bewitchment magic mod into the Roughly Enough Items viewer, so players can look them up from inside REI on Fabric for 1.20.1.

FabricClient-side onlyMIT License1.20.1

What it does

The add-on shows Bewitchment entries in REI's recipe viewer. The entries cover the results of using an athame on blocks and mobs, the results of stripping logs with an athame, and the inputs and outputs of cauldron brewing. Curse, incense, oil and ritual recipes are also listed, so a player who opens a Bewitchment item in REI can see how it is made or what it produces without leaving the game.

Both Bewitchment and the REI viewer must be installed, because this file only adds the magic mod's entries to REI. The mod is released under the MIT License and is not open source. Its only published build is 1.0.0 for 1.20.1, uploaded on 2024-11-22, and no other game version is covered.

Only the client needs this file, so players install it and servers do not. Because the author notes say full REI support for Bewitchment is limited to 1.20, earlier releases of the magic mod are not covered.

Key features

  1. Athame drop recipes

Shows the items an athame yields when used on a block or mob, so the drops are visible in REI.

  2. Athame log stripping drops

Lists the results of stripping logs with an athame as Bewitchment defines them.

  3. Cauldron brewing entries

Adds the cauldron brewing recipes to REI's lookup, including inputs and outputs.

  4. Curse, incense, oil and ritual recipes

Displays the curse, incense, oil and ritual recipes from Bewitchment in REI's viewer.

Use cases

Finding a ritual ingredient

A player who is partway through a ritual can search REI for the ingredients it needs instead of switching to a guide.

Planning brews

Players planning cauldron brews can check the outputs of each recipe in REI before gathering materials.

Who it’s for: Players of Bewitchment on Fabric for 1.20.1 who already use Roughly Enough Items and want Bewitchment recipes in the same viewer.

Questions

Does Bewitchment REI need Bewitchment installed?

Yes. Bewitchment is a required dependency, because this file adds its recipes to REI and cannot work without them.

Does Bewitchment REI need to be on the server?

No. Only the player's game needs it, and servers run without it.

Which Bewitchment versions does this file support?

The only build is 1.0.0 for 1.20.1. The author notes say full REI support for Bewitchment starts at 1.20, so earlier releases are not covered.
