Better Rotten changes what happens to rotten flesh, letting players turn it into leather scraps that combine into full leather.
What it does
Zombie drops of rotten flesh are recycled through a small crafting cycle instead of piling up in inventories. Leather scraps produced from the flesh can be combined back into full leather, which slots into the survival progression without changing the drop balance of the vanilla game. Installation requires only Fabric, and the mod runs on client and server, so both sides need it. Files are published for Fabric alone, for 1.21.11, with 1.0.2 as the latest build from February 4, 2026. The source code is open source under the Apache License 2.0.
