Better Firefly Bushes
by zdwolfe
Better Firefly Bushes gives Fabric players control over when firefly bushes animate, with a time window and an option to freeze them on a single frame.
What it does
Firefly bushes in vanilla Minecraft flash at night and in the daytime, and the daytime flashing makes the bushes harder to use in areas players visit during the day with large groups. Better Firefly Bushes limits the animation to a time window measured in Minecraft ticks, from 0 to 24000. Start and end times can be set separately, and the time-based control can be switched off so the bushes animate constantly.
The mod works on the client alone and needs Fabric Loader to run. Mod Menu is optional but recommended, since it provides a settings screen for the configuration. The mod targets game versions 1.21.10 – 1.21.11 and is released under the MIT License, so the code is open source. The latest Fabric file is 1.0.1-1.21.11 for 1.21.11, published on 2025-12-28.

Time window for animation
The bushes animate only between a configurable start time and end time, given in Minecraft ticks from 0 to 24000.
Time-based control toggle

Use cases
Daytime areas
Players who gather in large groups during the day can keep bushes in a steady state while they build or trade.
Who it’s for: Players on Fabric who find the firefly bush flashing distracting in daylight, and players who want the animation only at night or not at all.
