Bedrock Miner
Bedrock Miner lets players break bedrock in survival, with a configurable pickaxe tier and bedrock hardness set by the server or the player.
What it does
Bedrock Miner allows bedrock to be broken with a netherite pickaxe in survival mode. The minimum pickaxe tier, the hardness of the block and the optional drop of bedrock can all be adjusted, and changes take effect without editing configuration files by hand. The settings can be reached in an in-game configuration screen built with Mod Menu and Cloth Config.
Mining speed is calculated from Minecraft's own tool speeds, so Efficiency enchantments add their vanilla bonuses and the Haste effect further increases the rate. Breaking is continuous: stopping resets progress, the vanilla-style crack animation is shown, and tool durability is consumed as usual. The default configuration is meant to keep the game balanced, since bedrock remains a late-game resource that takes real investment to obtain.
The mod is published for Fabric only, for Minecraft 1.21.11, with the latest file 1.2.0 dated 2026-06-16. It runs on the client or the server, and either side can run it alone. The code is open source under the MIT License, and public source code and an issue tracker are available.
Key features
Netherite-tier bedrock mining
A configurable minimum pickaxe tier decides which tools can break bedrock, with netherite as the default requirement.
Adjustable hardness and drops
Bedrock hardness can be tuned, and dropping the block itself can be switched on or off.
Vanilla-matched mining
Speed uses Minecraft's real tool values, Efficiency enchantments and Haste, with the usual crack animation and durability loss.
In-game settings screen
Options are changed in a configuration screen reached through Mod Menu, with Cloth Config handling the interface.
