Bad Mobs
by Inconnu1337
Bad Mobs lets a server owner turn off mob spawning in Minecraft through a generated config file, and is a Fabric community port of the original BadMobs mod.
What it does
Once installed, the mod generates a config file that controls the spawning behavior it disables. The server must be run once so the file is created. After the game has loaded and been closed, the file can be opened in a text editor and each registered mob given its own option. Saving the edited file and running the badmobs reload command in the game applies the change without a restart.
Bad Mobs runs on the server alone, so players join without installing anything. It requires Fabric API and is published for Fabric only, across 10 release versions 1.21.1 – 1.21.10, with 1.0.0 for 1.21.10 as the latest file. The code is open source under the GNU Lesser General Public License v2.1 only, and public links exist for the source code and the issue tracker.
Key features
Mob spawn toggles
Each registered mob can be disabled from spawning through its own entry in the generated config file.
Reload command
Running the badmobs reload command applies edits to the config file while the server stays up.
Pregenerated mob options
The config file is created with every registered mob already listed, so no entries need to be typed by hand.

How it compares
Custom Mob Spawns (Renewed!) is open source under the MIT License, released for 1.21.5 and able to run on either side. MobToggle is for 1.21.1 – 1.21.2 and can run on a client or server, and its code is not open source. antispawn is server-side only, covers 1.21.6 – 1.21.11 and is not open source. NoSpawn is open source under the MIT License for 1.21.4 – 26.1.1, and the server must run it while clients may leave it out.
