Backpacked: Shells adds two shell-themed backpacks that players earn through movement milestones rather than crafting from the start.
What it does
The add-on for Backpacked adds two extra backpacks themed on shells: the Snail Shell and the Nautilus Shell. Each one is earned by reaching a milestone in play, so it is not available from the first moment in a world. The Snail Shell opens after a player has sneaked a total of 5000 blocks, and the Nautilus Shell opens after 5000 blocks have been swum.
Because it is a decoration-category add-on, the content centers on the look of the two backpacks and how they are obtained, with no new storage rules described on the Modrinth page. A companion version for MrCrayfish's content is also listed for the same mod, and the Backpacked base mod is needed to use these backpacks.
The mod is published for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge. Client and server both need it, so a server running it requires every player to have it installed too. Files cover 1.20.1 – 26.1.2 across five release versions, with the newest file at 1.0.1 for 26.1.2, dated 2026-04-30. The code is under All rights reserved and is not open source.
