Auto Greeter

by Mike

Auto Greeter sends a chat greeting to a player shortly after that player joins a server, with timing and frequency set in its config.

FabricClient-side onlyAll rights reserved1.19.2 – 26.2

What it does

Once a player joins, Auto Greeter waits a random time between a configured minimum and maximum number of seconds before sending the greeting. Both limits are set separately, so the delay can be short, long or varied. A chance setting decides how often a greeting is sent at all, and a minutes setting stops the same player from being greeted again until enough time has passed since the last one.

The mod can be switched on and off, and its settings open from the Mods screen through a button that Mod Menu provides. Fabric API and Mod Menu are both required. The mod is client-side only, so only the player's client needs it and the server runs without it. Files are published for Fabric across game versions 1.19.2 – 26.2, and snapshot builds are published too.

Questions

Does Auto Greeter need Fabric API?

Yes. Fabric API and Mod Menu are both required, and Mod Menu supplies the button that opens the config screen from the Mods list.

Does the server need Auto Greeter installed?

No. Servers do not need it; each player installs it for their own game.

Can the greeting be limited so it is not sent every time?

Yes. The chance setting controls how often a greeting is sent, and the minutes setting prevents the same player from being greeted again too soon.

What the author says

This is a simple mod that greets users when they join the server. Whenever player joins the server it will automatically say a welcome message from the configured list. You do not need to be tabbed into game for it to do this. Do note this can become really spammy and annoying in chat! I am not responsible for how…
