Auto 1e-7 Stepping
by Scanysses
Auto 1e-7 Stepping is a Fabric utility that automates the 1e-7 stepping technique, a movement trick that lets a player climb a block edge Minecraft would otherwise refuse.
What it does
The mod helps players use 1e-7 stepping, a mechanic where the position is set about 1e-8 blocks past a collision edge so the game registers a half-block step up. Minecraft cancels any movement smaller than 1e-7, so the nudge has to be tuned to that threshold, which the mod handles for the player. The script can run a series of actions a little faster than a person doing them by hand, and it follows the same collision checks the game uses.
Fabric API is needed for the mod to load, and a separate configuration library is required for its settings to work. Positioning comes in two modes, and the mod is built to be as accurate as the manual method. Auto 1e-7 Stepping is a client-side only mod, so servers run without it and only the player who uses it needs it. Files cover 1.21.2 – 26.3 across 15 release versions, and the latest Fabric file is 1.1.0+26.3-fabric for 26.3, released 2026-10-08. The code is open source under the MIT License.
Key features
Automated 1e-7 stepping
Runs the step sequence for the player: a nudge past the collision edge, a check on the movement vector, and a final position set.
Two positioning modes
Offers a first and a second positioning mode for placing the player before a step, depending on how the wall is approached.
Collision-aware movement
Follows the same collision checks as the game, so steps are only attempted against a block that would actually block movement.
Configurable settings
Settings are exposed through a configuration library, which the mod requires.

How it compares
Better Elytra Takeoff is a server-side only Fabric mod under the MIT License, covering 1.21.11 – 26.3, so it changes server behavior rather than player movement. WAISI (What Am I Stepping In) is client-side only, open source under the MIT License and built for 1.21.11, showing the block a player is standing on. Countered's Smooth Steps is client-side only, works on Fabric, Forge and NeoForge for 1.20.1 – 26.3, and is not open source.

What the author says
Little utility mod to make 1e-7 stepping mechanics easier to use If you move along any axis less than the hardcoded value of 1e-7 (or 0.0000001) — the movement gets canceled. This brings us to the collision checks. When you're about to collide with a block — Minecraft doesn't let you do it and sets your position next…
