AstroChem
AstroChem adds chemistry recipes and machine processes for Ad Astra space metals, letting players synthesize them from Earth materials.
What it does
Dissolving and combining recipes produce Desh, Ostrum and Calorite from ingredients gathered on Earth, while compacting recipes turn space stones, cobblestones, sands and perma-frost blocks into conglomerate forms. Space metal dusts can be combined in several ways, and the process needs only the materials themselves.
Chemical elements from the mod can be loaded into Oxygen, Fuel and Cryo-fuel buckets, and new chemicals join the alchemy machines as ways to synthesize fuel and cryo-fuel. Some of the new recipes are obtainable through fusion and fission reactors, which players build before the space metals become available.
The mod requires Ad Astra, Botarium, Resourceful Config and Resourceful Lib. It runs on the client and server, so both sides need it. Files exist for Fabric and Forge, with builds for 1.19.2 and 1.20.1, and the code is released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, making the project open source.
Key features
Space metal recipes
Dissolving recipes turn Ad Astra space metals into usable dusts and compounds, with f-transition and post-transition metals among the inputs.
Fuel and cryo-fuel synthesis
Alchemy machines gain chemical routes for producing fuel and cryo-fuel, and the buckets accept the mod's chemical elements.
Compacting space blocks
Space stones, cobblestones, sands and perma-frost blocks can be dissolved or compacted into conglomerate blocks.
In-game recipe guide
A guidebook and wiki list the added recipes, and JEI, REI or MEI can show them, so players learn the chemical systems in-game.

Use cases
Progression through reactors
Players who build fusion and fission reactors on Earth gather the chemicals needed to synthesize space metals, then carry the results to space.
Who it’s for: Players who run Ad Astra progression packs and want a chemistry layer for space metals and fuels, and server owners who want those recipes on a shared world.
How it compares
Create Ad Astra Compat is a Forge add-on under the MIT License for 1.19.2, and it is not open source. Ad-Astra: Giselle Addon runs on Fabric, Forge and NeoForge for 1.19.2 – 1.21.1 under the MIT License and is open source. Crushed Astra is a Forge mod for 1.20.1 under the MIT License that is not open source.
