by AshenAstra

Astra's Arcane Staffs lets players craft staffs from Nether Stars and cast spells with them, each staff carrying two spells on the left and right mouse buttons.

What it does

Crafting a staff needs only two sticks and an elemental ingredient, and the result is a staff that can be charged with one of several elements. Four elemental staffs are listed for the mod: Inferno Staff with Blaze Powder, Blizzard Staff with Packed Ice, Voltaic Staff with Lightning Rod, and Galeforce Staff with Wind Charges. Each elemental staff is then used to craft an arcane staff, which holds two spells, one cast with a left click and one with a right click.

The spells cover area attacks and self-buffs: a falling fireball above a targeted area, a line of falling fire charges, a lightning strike, a stream of Wind Charges that launches the caster into the sky, and a falling Pointed Dripstone attack. Some spells grant Fire Resistance, Swiftness or Slow Falling for a few seconds. The mod is published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt for 26.2 only, and it is categorized under Magic and Equipment.

The mod is server required and client optional, so the server must run it while players may leave it out. It is released under the MIT License and is not open source. A data pack build is also available for servers.

Key features

  1. Staffs from Nether Stars

Staffs are crafted from Nether Stars and other materials, placing the mod's weapons within reach of mid-game progress.

  2. Two spells per staff

An arcane staff holds one spell on the left click and another on the right click, cast with a cooldown of about one second.

  3. Four elemental staffs

Inferno, Blizzard, Voltaic and Galeforce staffs each carry a separate element and are used as the base for arcane staffs.

  4. Area and self-buff spells

Spells strike targeted areas with fire, ice or lightning and can also grant temporary Swiftness or Slow Falling to the caster.
