Armored Wool gives sheep a wearable armor slot, sheep variants and wool drops tied to enchantments and biomes, all running on Fabric.
What it does
Sheep can be fitted with armor that reduces most kinds of damage they take. The armor is protected by new enchantments made for it, and its design draws on the armor approach used in the Axolotl Armour Mod. Sheep also come in variants that set their default wool color, and variants appear across several biomes. Custom variants can be added through datapacks, and the variant textures were made by KattZZi.
Sheep that eat grass drop more wool, and sheared sheep keep dropping wool as the wool-yield enchantment level rises. Trimming with a range of 1 to 3 is supported for the armor. The mod includes a config file for adjusting these behaviours. Armored Wool requires Fabric API, runs on client and server, and is released under the Apache License 2.0, making it open source. Files exist for 1.21, 1.21.1, 1.21.4 and 1.21.5, with 2.0.0 for 1.21.5 as the latest, published on 2025-03-25.

Sheared is client-side only, open source under the MIT License, and covers 1.21.1 – 1.21.11 on Fabric alone, so it is a client mod that servers do not need. Killed Sheep Don't Drop Wool is server required with client optional, open source under the MIT License, and runs on all four loaders across 1.21.2 – 1.21.11.
