by PaulBantz

ArdaMaps is a Fabric mapping mod for the Ardacraft server, with an interactive map, compass and toposcope HUDs and an in-game guide book.

FabricClient and serverCreative Commons Attribution 4.01.20.1 – 26.1.2

What it does

The map screen can show PMTiles, BlueMap tiles and flat images, and map layers and zoom levels can be configured. Players who explore the Ardacraft world can track where they have been through fog-of-war tracking, which hides unvisited areas until they are reached.

Compass and Toposcope HUDs list nearby landmarks together with their distance from the player. The in-game guide book can be restyled entirely through a resource pack, so a server can match its own look.

The mod needs Fabric API on Fabric, and Arda Paths and ArdaRegions are optional companions. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too. Builds exist for 1.20.1 and 26.1.2, with 1.1.2+mc.1.20.1 as the latest Fabric file, released under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license and not open source.

Key features

  1. Interactive map

A map screen renders PMTiles, BlueMap tiles and flat images, with configurable map layers.

  2. Adjustable zoom

Zoom levels on the map can be set in the configuration to suit the scale of the world.

  3. Compass and Toposcope HUDs

Two heads-up displays show nearby landmarks along with the distance to each one.

  4. Fog-of-war exploration

Areas the player has not reached stay hidden on the map until they are visited.

  5. Customizable guide book

The in-game guide book takes its appearance from a resource pack, so its content and styling can be replaced.
