NoSignGui

by Banaxi-dev

NoSignGui is a client-side Fabric mod that stops the sign editing screen from opening when a player places a sign.

FabricClient required, server optionalMIT LicenseOpen source1.21.5 – 1.21.6

What it does

Placing a sign normally opens the SignEditScreen so the player can type its text. NoSignGui skips that screen, which lets players place signs quickly without an interruption. The mod can be toggled, and a timer controls how long the sign GUI stays off, so the screen can return after a set period. Commands are available for changing these settings.

Only the client needs the mod, since it works entirely on the client side. A server can run it without installing anything, and other mods and modpacks are generally compatible with it. The mod requires Fabric API and is released under the MIT License, with its source code available publicly.

Files target game versions 1.21.5 and 1.21.6, with the latest Fabric build being 1.0 for 1.21.6, published 2025-06-18. The first release came out on 2025-06-17.

Key features

  1. Sign GUI disabled

Placing a sign no longer opens the sign editing screen, so the sign can be placed without a pause.

  2. Toggle and timer

The sign GUI can be switched on or off, and a timer sets how long it stays disabled.

  3. Command support

Commands allow the sign GUI settings to be changed while the game is running.

  4. Other player effects

Players on a server running the mod can see the effect on their own signs without any server-side install.
