AFK to Ghost
by alecjp02
AFK to Ghost is a Fabric server mod that protects players who have gone inactive, making them invisible and invulnerable after a set timeout.
What it does
When a player has been inactive for a configured amount of time, the mod switches that player into a ghost-like state: the player becomes invisible and takes no incoming damage. An action bar message shows while the state is active, and returning to play restores normal status as soon as activity is detected again. Idle players stay protected while remaining in the world rather than being removed from it.
The mod is installed on the server only, and it works on dedicated servers as well as client-hosted integrated servers, including singleplayer worlds, LAN-hosted worlds and worlds shared through e4mc. The mod stores its configuration in a file. Mod Menu and Cloth Config are optional client-side dependencies: a hosting player can change the settings from inside the game, whereas a dedicated server administrator still edits the configuration file directly. Fabric API and Fabric Language Kotlin are required.
Joining players do not need the mod, because it only runs on the host side. The mod is open source under the MIT License, and its source code is public. Files are published for Fabric only, with builds for 1.20.1, 1.21.1, 26.1.2 and 26.2, and the latest file, 0.3.0+26.2 for 26.2, is in the beta channel.

Use cases
Who it’s for: Server owners and players who host worlds for others, especially on Fabric 1.20.1 – 26.2 where idle players are a concern.
How it compares
LAN Whitelist is a Fabric mod for client and server environments, released under the MIT License and open source, with files for 1.20.2 – 1.21.10; it controls who may join a LAN world rather than protecting idle players. Sessility is a server-side only Fabric mod, open source under the MIT License, for 1.19 – 26.3. AFK Player Timer is client-side only and not open source, released under All rights reserved, for 1.20 – 26.1.2.
