AE2 Stuff: Extended
by Beecube31
AE2 Stuff: Extended is a Forge addon fork that adds performance and channel improvements to a few machines in an AE2 network.
What it does
The mod changes three parts of the AE2 system. Wireless connectors can transmit on up to 256 channels, and the Crystal Grower and Advanced Inscriber receive performance work. Its wider changes are described by the author as a set of improvements to the base, so the blocks and items keep their usual roles in a network.
AE2 Stuff: Extended requires AE2 UEL: Extended and bdlib on Forge. Both must be installed beside it. A server running it needs every connecting player to have it too. Files cover only 1.12.2, and the latest Forge file is 0.2, published on 2023-12-29. The code is released under the MIT License and is open source, with public source code and an issue tracker.
Key features
Wireless connector channels
Wireless connectors can transmit on up to 256 channels, which lets one network span many separate wireless links.
Faster crystal growth
The Crystal Grower has performance work applied, so it processes its growth cycle with less overhead.
Faster inscribing
The Advanced Inscriber has performance work applied, so it runs its inscribing operations with less overhead.
Fork of the base mod
The mod is an addon fork that carries the base forward with the changes listed here.

Use cases
Large wireless networks
Players who link many storage or crafting areas by wireless connector can use the 256-channel limit to span the whole base.
Busy crystal and inscriber lines
Players running high-throughput crystal growth or inscribing benefit from the performance changes to those two machines.
Who it’s for: Players on 1.12.2 who already run an AE2 network and want wireless channel capacity or the two machine improvements. Server owners running 1.12.2 need the mod on the server as well.
How it compares
AE2 ME Interface Through is another Forge addon for 1.12.2, released under the MIT License and open source, that runs on client and server like AE2 Stuff: Extended. YM-Additions is a Forge mod for 1.12.2 under the GNU General Public License v3.0 or later, also open source and needing both sides. Each of these adds its own content instead of changing the wireless channel limit or the two machines named here.
