Abyssaline Nether
by Jayzet
Abyssaline Nether is a world generation overhaul for the Nether that raises the dimension's terrain height and reworks its biomes and caves.
What it does
Terrain generation in the Nether is raised to 256 blocks, where vanilla reaches 128. The mod overhauls the default layout with lava rivers, great riding striders and giant valleys, along with claustrophobic cave networks and huge ravines, while keeping the vertical feel of the vanilla Nether.
Vanilla Nether biomes are revamped with their own distinguishing characteristics and more detail, and seven new detailed biomes join the reworked ones so the variety does not make the dimension feel cluttered. Abyssaline Nether works with most structure mods, and it can be combined with biome datapacks such as Incendium Biomes. It is published for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt, only the server must run it while players may add it, and it is released under All rights reserved, so it is not open source. Files cover 1.20 – 1.21.11; C2ME and Noisium are recommended for slow chunk generation.

How it compares
Higher Nether is server-side only, published for 1.20 – 1.21 and released under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, so it is not open source. Incendium Legacy is needed on the server, with the client optional, with files for 1.18.2 – 26.3 under a custom license. Abyssaline Nether differs from both: it is published for 1.20 – 1.21.11 under All rights reserved and is not open source.
