A screamer

by Uramine333

A screamer is a Cursed mod that adds random jump scares to survival play, each one paired with a sudden image and a loud sound.

FabricForgeNeoForgeClient-side onlyAll rights reserved1.20.1 – 1.21.11

What it does

Screamers trigger at unpredictable moments while a player explores, mines or simply stands still. Each event flashes a frightening picture across the screen and plays an intense sound, so the effect lands hardest during quiet stretches of play. The mod is aimed at players who want tension in dark places such as caves and the Nether, where a sudden event can cause panic.

A screamer mod is client-side only, so only the player's own game needs it and servers run without it. Files are released for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across nine release versions, 1.20.1 – 1.21.11. The project is released under All rights reserved and is not open source.

Key features

  1. Random jump scares

Screamers appear at random intervals, so a player cannot predict when the next one will occur.

  2. Frightening visuals

Sudden images flash across the screen during each event, interrupting whatever the player is doing.

  3. Loud sound effects

Every screamer is accompanied by a loud audio surprise intended to startle the player.

  4. Unpredictable triggers

Events can happen while mining, exploring or standing still, which keeps the player on edge throughout a session.
