360 FOV

by xpncvr

360 FOV extends the field-of-view range of Minecraft from 110 up to 400 by blending several projections together.

What it does

The mod renders the surrounding world as six cube faces and reprojects them in a single shader pass. Blending different projections is what lets the field of view grow past the normal limit. Up to 360 degrees the whole sphere around the camera becomes visible, and past that point the view folds back on itself.

The mod uses the vanilla FOV slider, so the value is set in the game's video settings and the projection updates automatically. Projection thresholds that control where blending starts can be edited in the configuration file, which carries a text description of each option. Normal field-of-view values cost extra performance, so the blended path is used only above them.

The projection math is adapted from Flex FOV by Shaun LeBron and from the Render360 fork, with work on rendering edge cases. Billboard particle rendering and some corner geometry were tested with a shader mod for compatibility. Files target 1.21.1 – 26.3, and the latest file is 1.2.1 for 26.3, published 2026-10-15.

Key features

  1. Field of view up to 400

The range of the FOV slider is widened to a maximum of 400 by combining several projection techniques.

  2. Full sphere view

Values up to 360 show the entire sphere around the camera, and values above 360 wrap the view around.

  3. Editable projection thresholds

The thresholds that set where projections blend can be changed in the configuration file.

  4. Compatibility checks

Billboard particle rendering and some corner geometry were tested alongside a shader mod.
