Async Hotbars
by xpncvr
With Async Hotbars installed, hotbar updates are processed in the background, so opening or saving a hotbar on the Fabric client causes fewer short freezes.
What it does
Saving a hotbar and opening the creative inventory can stall the client while large item data is handled on the main thread. Async Hotbars moves that work to a separate thread, so the game keeps responding during the process. It is a lightweight client-side change that only affects how hotbar updates are handled. Builds exist for 1.21.5 – 26.3, and the mod is open source under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only.
Key features
Background hotbar saving
Saving a hotbar runs asynchronously, which reduces the freeze that can appear during the save step.
Smoother creative opening
Opening the creative inventory preloads hotbar data, so it appears with less stutter for players who notice it.
Lightweight client change
The mod only alters how hotbar inventory updates are handled and adds no new items, blocks or screens.
