Two Blocks Ahead

by trilimpid

Two Blocks Ahead is a Forge horror mod by trilimpid that adds two unsettling mobs, Big Sickocado and Small Sickocado, to the game.

ForgeClient and serverAll rights reserved1.20.1

What it does

Small Sickocado is harmless and stays close to the player. Big Sickocado appears only at night, and how often he shows up depends on the player's hunger. Above 75% hunger, players mostly hear him nearby. Between 75% and 50%, they catch glimpses of him. Between 50% and 25%, he comes closer and his sounds make the player uneasy. Below 25%, he switches to hunting mode and comes straight for the player.

The mod needs Geckolib, which must be installed alongside it on Forge for 1.20.1. Only the server and players who join it need to run the mod together, so every player on a server that runs it needs it too. Files are published for Forge only, as version 1.0.0 for 1.20.1, first released on 2024-11-01. The mod is listed in the Cursed and Mobs categories and is not open source; it is distributed under All rights reserved.

Key features

  1. Two horror mobs

Big Sickocado and Small Sickocado are introduced as new mobs, with Small Sickocado as the harmless companion.

  2. Hunger-driven encounters

Big Sickocado's behavior escalates as the player's hunger drops, from distant sounds to direct pursuit.

  3. Night-only appearances

Big Sickocado appears only at night, so the threat follows the day and night cycle.

  4. Optimized for Forge

The mod is built for Forge and the author notes plans to revisit other platforms in the future.
