Ziplines: Rezipped!

by evanbones

Ziplines: Rezipped! lets players attach to a cable and slide along it, gaining speed on the way down and losing it on the way up.

FabricForgeNeoForgeClient and serverMIT LicenseOpen source1.20.1 – 26.3

What it does

Players hold right-click on a cable to attach, then travel along it while the look direction changes momentum. Jumping releases the rider and launches them off the line. A toggle switches the realistic momentum physics off in favor of a more arcade-like feel, which is the default setting in the config.

The mod adds cables of its own and can also turn cables from other mods into ziplines. Any item tagged zipline:attachment can be used to ride, and the default tag includes pickaxes and items tagged as wrenches. Using the zipline tool wears it down, with the rate set in the config. The mod is a multiloader fork of Tomate0613's Zipline and is inspired by the zipline mechanics of Satisfactory.

Installation needs Fabric API on every loader. Cloth Config API, Mod Menu, Reconnectible Chains and YetAnotherConfigLib (YACL) are optional. Ziplines: Rezipped! is released under the MIT License, and its source code is public. Builds exist for Fabric, Forge and NeoForge across 8 release versions, 1.20.1 – 26.3, and the latest Fabric and NeoForge files target 26.3.

Key features

  1. Momentum-based riding

Speed builds on the way down a line and drops on the way up, and look direction can steer the momentum.

  2. Attach and release

Holding right-click attaches the player to a cable, and jumping detaches them and launches them off the line.

  3. Tag-based zipline tools

Any item with the zipline:attachment tag can be used to ride, and the mod defines the tag and adds it to its own tool.

  4. Existing cables from other mods

Cables that other mods add can be converted into ziplines by this mod, and a developer can support a custom cable by implementing the Cable interface.

  5. Adjustable physics

A toggle replaces the realistic physics with a more arcade-like feel, and tool durability can be configured.
