XP Tablets
by T0mt4ru
XP Tablets lets players store experience points in portable tablets, which can be filled, emptied and carried between locations.
What it does
Players fill a tablet with experience and retrieve it later, so the points stay available outside the place where they were gained. A tablet can also be given to another player, who can then withdraw the stored experience. Each tier holds a fixed amount: a Copper tablet holds 160 XP, equal to 10 levels, an Iron tablet 550 XP (20 levels), a Gold tablet 1395 XP (30 levels), a Diamond tablet 2920 XP (40 levels), and a Netherite tablet 5345 XP (50 levels).
Five tiers, running from Copper through Iron, Gold and Diamond up to Netherite, form the core of the design, and each step up offers a larger capacity together with quicker transfers. The Copper tablet is crafted at a crafting table, the Iron, Gold and Diamond tablets follow the same route from their own materials, and the Netherite tablet is made at a smithing station. Installation needs NeoForge only, and both client and server need the mod. Files are published for NeoForge 1.21 and 1.21.1, under the MIT License, which is not open source.
Key features
Five storage tiers
Copper, Iron, Gold, Diamond and Netherite tablets each hold more experience than the previous tier.
Store and retrieve
A tablet is filled from the player's experience and emptied again when the stored points are needed.
Transfer to others
A full tablet can be handed to another player, who can take the experience out of it.
Tablet repairs
Stored experience can be used to repair tools and armour at an anvil, so the tablets serve a second purpose.
Compatibility
Latest build for each game version and loader.
Only full game releases are shown. This mod publishes no snapshot builds.
Use cases
Carrying experience between bases
A player who gathers experience in a mining area can carry it to a farm or enchanting setup without spending it first.
Trading experience on a server
Players on a multiplayer server can hand a full tablet to a friend who needs levels for enchanting or repairs.
Who it’s for: Players who want to move experience around a world, and server owners who want players to share it through items instead of commands.
How it compares
Create: Redstone Link Tablet is a NeoForge mod for 1.21.1 – 1.21.11 under the MIT License, and it is not open source; it covers redstone linking rather than experience. Enzo's Emeralds is a NeoForge mod for 1.21.1 – 1.21.4 with All rights reserved licensing and is not open source, so it is not an experience storage option.
