XP Simplifier
by Qdeeme
XP Simplifier gives server owners control over how experience is earned, spent and repaired, with values set per source in its own config.
What it does
XP Simplifier lets a server owner set the experience values that players receive and the costs they pay. Experience can come from many sources, and each source is split into its own category with its own config file. Categories contain subcategories, which exist only to keep the configuration tidy. The mod works with vanilla content and with modded content.
The mod offers two XP modes. In the direct mode, experience is granted without orbs. In the vanilla mode, experience still appears as orbs. The OrbMode setting is simple and supports negative values. Repair costs are also adjustable: anvil repairs take a level amount that depends on the player level, and maxAnvilRepairCost caps the number of levels needed for a full repair. Since version 2.0.5 the XP cost formula uses XP points instead of XP levels, which allows more precise balancing. Changes made through the config or the in-game menu apply after a restart.
Modpacks with uneven XP rewards, economy or progression servers, and hardcore servers that use punishment systems are the setups the mod is aimed at. The mod requires Mod Menu. It runs on the server alone, so players join without installing anything. The code is licensed under the GNU General Public License v3.0 only, and the mod is not open source. Files exist for Fabric and NeoForge across 9 release versions, 1.20 – 1.21.1.
Key features
Per-source XP values
Each XP source has its own category and config file, so values can be set independently of one another.
Two XP modes
Direct XP gaining orbs and vanilla XP with orbs are both available, selected by the OrbMode option.
Adjustable repair costs
Anvil repair costs can be lowered or raised, with a cap that limits the total XP needed for a full repair.
Two calculation methods
Two XP calculation methods are supported, and the mending enchantment works differently with OrbMode.
